Compact Horn Line design (CHL) using a single 12-inch neo driver plus a tweeter. It has a conical horn for the first 2/3rds of the length and then and exponential mouth flare. It is highly efficient between 70 Hz and 500 Hz making it sound really punchy, but it has good extended bass to below 40 Hz. The driver is highly efficient as a direct radiator between 500 Hz and 4 kHz and then an efficient tweeter takes over.
This cabinet is ideal for outdoor gigs or wherever you need a compact rig which can cut through the mix at higher levels. It is optimised for 4 string basses but will cope with a 5 string. You won’t find another Horn speaker under 10 kgs that works this well!
Build using two sheets of 9mm plywood which offers stiffness and low weight. The folded interior is not difficult to construct and offers additional bracing to all the sides. We finished ours in a 5D carbon Wrap with silver metal corners and deep speaker grille to allow concentric mounting of the tweeter, but the custom finish is your choice!
